VOCALOCO LLC ("Vocaloco," "we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you use our mobile application, website (https://vocaloco.com), and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described below. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in our Terms of Service. --- ## 1. Information You Provide * **Account & On‑Boarding.** Email address or Apple/Google identifier, display name, birth year (for age gating), and language selections. * **Conversation Input ("Prompts").** Your speech is converted to text in real time using OpenAI Whisper and is **not stored as raw audio** after transcription. We retain the resulting text transcript and system‑generated metadata (e.g., vocabulary tags, difficulty level) for your learning history and to improve our models. * **Support & Feedback.** Email address and the contents of any message you send to us, including attachments. * **Purchases.** Apple or Google provide us with receipt IDs, price tier, and subscription status. We do **not** receive full payment‑card numbers. ### B. Information We Collect Automatically * **Device & Usage Data.** IP address, device model, operating‑system version, app version, push‑notification token, approximate location (city/country), session length, screens viewed, crash logs. * **Cookies and SDKs.** We and analytics partners use cookies, mobile SDKs, and similar technologies to understand feature usage and improve performance. ### C. Information We Receive from Others * **App Stores.** Subscription status, refunds, and fraud flags. * **AI Vendors.** Model‑performance metrics that do not identify you. --- ## 2. How We Use Personal Information We use the information described above to: 1. Provide, operate, and maintain the Services; 2. Personalise your experience, including adjusting difficulty and vocabulary review; 3. Improve existing features, develop new ones, and train or fine‑tune our AI models; 4. Communicate with you about updates, support issues, and marketing (SMS, push, email); 5. Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; 6. Facilitate and confirm transactions and payments; 7. Generate de‑identified or aggregated data for lawful business purposes; 8. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service; and 9. Achieve any other purpose that we describe when we collect the information. ### Legal Bases for EU/UK Users We process personal information only when we have a valid legal basis, including consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interests (product improvement, fraud prevention), vital interests, or compliance with legal obligations. --- ## 3. How We Disclose Personal Information * **Service Providers.** Cloud hosting and database (Supabase), AI processing (OpenAI GPT‑4o Mini and Whisper), analytics, subscription billing (RevenueCat), animation asset delivery (Rive). * **Payment Processors & App Stores.** To complete in‑app purchases and manage subscriptions. * **Affiliates & Advisors.** For internal business, accounting, and legal purposes. * **Legal and Safety.** Where required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property. * **Business Transfers.** In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. * **With Consent.** Any other sharing you authorise. We do **not** sell personal information or share it for cross‑context behavioural advertising. --- ## 4. Your Choices and Rights * **Age Gate.** Users under 13 are blocked from creating an account. Users aged 13‑17 must confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted the Terms and this Policy. * **Marketing Communications.** Reply **STOP** to SMS messages or disable push notifications in device settings. * **Analytics & Cookies.** Use browser or OS settings to limit or block cookies and tracking. * **Account Deletion.** Email **vocalocoapp@gmail.com** with the subject "Delete My Data." We will delete transcripts, account details, and subscription metadata unless retention is required by law. * **EU/UK Data Subject Rights.** Access, correct, delete, restrict, object, or port your data, or withdraw consent, by contacting us at the address below. We may ask for proof of identity. --- ## 5. Retention We do **not** retain raw voice recordings after they are transcribed. Conversation transcripts and de‑identified interaction metadata are kept as long as necessary to provide the Services, improve our AI models, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. --- ## 6. Security We employ reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest, least‑privilege access, regular audits). No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. --- ## 7. Children's Privacy We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. International Transfers Our servers are located in the United States.
